Here is a tentative schedule for the 2026-27 school year. Again, it should appear quite familiar. Traditionally, mornings are reserved for lower-level math classes, while afternoons contain higher level math and science. This allows older students to more conveniently double up on math and science classes. Research also indicates older students may be more coherent and functional later in the day. We adopted this math schedule two years ago and it has worked out well.
All that being said, we have a series of surveys designed to gauge interest and make possible changes based on the needs of the community. These include our 2026-27 TOMG Class Interest Survey (to the right), Summer Classes Interest Survey (here), and SAT Prep Interest Survey (here). Our 2026-27 TOMG Class Interest Survey gives current TOMG families an opportunity to shape our class schedule. While all math classes outside of Math Fundamentals are effectively locked in, families are still encouraged to submit their interest to provide insight into anticipated numbers. Most importantly, science classes will be determined by popular demand with each location (Raleigh and Cary) getting at least two subject areas. Some families have also expressed interest in morning science classes for students with afternoon sports or extracurricular activities. Please indicate whether you would prefer a morning option when completing your survey. Also, there has already been some interest in holding a Calculus class and an Anatomy & Physiology class as well. Either would require a deluge of interest, but it is still a possibility. Like last year, our Pre-Calculus course is composed of two semester long courses (College Algebra and Trigonometry) that meet twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays. Students would be responsible for both sessions. You may select both College Algebra and Trigonometry to fulfill the entire Calculus prerequisite or just College Algebra for a single high school credit. Traditionally, we also offer some core math classes over the summer to help students catch up or get ahead. You can participate in that survey by clicking Summer 2026 Survey. Finally, with the continued success of the SAT prep classes, we are offering classes in the fall, spring, and summer. There is even the possibility of evening classes. Please show your interest in these classes by clicking 2026 SAT Prep Survey. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. |
